The Ocean Beach Public Library is a very important part of the community and is frequented by children and adults of all ages. The library has a media area where you can use computers and access the Internet. At the library you can check out books, media and audio books. You can even host small events. The library itself fits in well with the Ocean Beach neighborhood style with everyone from hipsters, families and hippies hanging around the library. The library is well loved by locals.
Being part of the San Diego library system makes the OB Library have quite a collection as patrons can place holds on books and have them delivered to this library for easy pick-up. Having the books transferred here is a very convenient free service.
